Chaparral was dominant from the get-go, forcing Pinnacle to punt on the Pioneers' their first six possessions and scoring every time they had the ball except once inthe first half, en route to a 51-7 win on Cox 7 Thursday night.
Chaparral junior QB Connor Brewer hit Jordie Hein for a 51 yard TD on their fourth play from scrimmage to take a 7-0 lead.
A punt gave Chaparral the ball back and you could tell things were going to go their way all night long as super junior Davonte' Neal mishandled a snal out of the Wildcat, fumbled it, yet managed to run it in from 12 yards out to give Chaparral a 14-0 lead.
Pinnacle attmpted to pound the ball with RB Cody Gibson, but Chaparral proved to be too fast and built a 38-0 lead before halftime.
The Firebirds got two more scores out of Neal, one more from Hein and a 45 yard field goal from Sean Buizer before the half was over.
Chaparral got the ball to open the second half, scored on Brewer's fourth TD pass of the night and then called the dogs off and played their backups most of the rest of te half.
Pinnacle got a score with 10:19 to play in the game when QB Jackson Harley hooked up with Nick Cappellini.
The Firebirds added a another score in the second half, an Ikaia Nawahine run to give us a final of 51-7.
Other than some penalties, Chaparal looked dominant all night long and appeared to be one of the best teams in the state.
