"The recruiting process has been great," Paul said. This year as a senior I have stepped it up averaging over 20 tackles a game. I have 87 tackles in four games. The process has been stressful and had to change my number but hopefully I make a choice soon where I will play my college ball."
"I like the coaches at Auburn and the way they play. I also like how they fly around to the ball and get after it on defense. I like how the coaches coach at Auburn."
"I love the Tennessee atmosphere and the coaches. I love how the coaches get in the players face and are ready for any game."
"Coach Charlie is a good down to earth man and is defensive minded. He truly believes that defense wins games."
LSU players always play hard and fight to the finish and that is the type of player that I am. The coaches are going to coach and the players are going to play at LSU."
"They are very versatile and need those types of linebackers such as myself who can get out and cover. The coaches have wonderful out going personalities and are great to be around."
"I love how the coaches think and the players fly around to the ball. In addition, they have allot of Florida players on their roster and they are known for playing fast and physical."
"I love the coaches. They all have wonderful personalities. Also, they are close to home and they play hard fast and have fun."
Paul has his trips planned.
"I'm taking an official visit to Tennessee, Auburn, Louisville, LSU and making unofficials to Florida, South Florida and West Virginia. My 5th official visit is up for grabs.
Paul talks about his game.
"I play hard, fast and physical. I also read the play extremely well and most of the times am the fastest player to the ball. I still need to work on all areas of my game. Even though I am 6'0 and 227-pounds I am very athletic. I can play safety or linebacker."
Paul has gone under the radar according to recruiting services but has over 35 offers and has narrowed it to ten.
Three people will assist Paul in the decision making process moving forward.
"In making my final decision I will go to my mom, dad and head football coach. At each school I will look at Atmosphere, playing style and coaching style."
Gionni Paul finished his junior season with 159 tackles and six interceptions. He also had four rushing touchdowns. Paul says he can bench 365-pounds, squat 485 and claims a 39-inch vertical jump.
Paul also runs track and may consider doing both in college. He runs the 100m (11.7) and 200m (25.2). Paul also does the long jump (24-feet) and triple jump (42-feet).
Paul plans on majoring in computer engineering and reports a 3.5 core GPA, an 18 ACT and is considering graduating early.
Paul: "I know how to read and react well. I see the ball and I just go get it. I'm like a Ray Lewis-type."
"I'm not concentrating on just one thing to improve. I want to do everything better."
