"UT Martin is the one school that calls me frequently and are close to an offer," he said. "I'm on the phone with them a lot and was out there for an unofficial visit three weeks ago and they invited me back. I really don't know why some of these teams haven't offered me, and I think most of them want to wait until after the season to see how things have gone for me.
"Right now my top five schools are Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Duke, Purdue and UT Martin," he said. "Georgia Tech has a slight lead over the others because I like the way they run their offense. I've got one of my teammates that's already committed there and if they offered I'd commit too.
"All of these schools are sending me a lot of mail and email and just talking about their games and seeing how I'm doing," he said. "And they're all going off film that I've sent in to see what side of the ball they want me on. I have no preference on what position I play at the next level – I just want to play."
Goff says he's unofficially visited Georgia Tech this season for a game.
"I think I'll try and get back there when they play against Miami too," he said. "I also think that if Tennessee were to offer me it would really change up the whole recruiting process for me. I just liked them growing up."
Central (7-2) plays Franklin County tonight.
Goff says he's carrying the ball from the backfield mostly as his team's running back and also says he has 450 yards and 16 touchdowns. At linebacker he says he has around 85 tackles, seven sacks and one interception this season.
He reports a 3.5 GPA and an 18 on the ACT with plans to retake the test in December.
