Bulldogs Add #22

John Harris took his final official visit this past weekend when he tripped to Mississippi State to see all things Maroon. The talented defensive end's official venture was his third of the process and he reports that he has seen enough. On WPTV Channel 5, Harris' decision will be announced to a local TV audience, but big John gave Scout.com advance notice of his college decision.

John Harris profile

"I committed to Mississippi State," said Harris. "I like the direction Coach Mullen is going with the program."

John was recruited by Mississippi State assistant John Hevesy. He also got to know future position coach Chris Wilson this past weekend during his official visit.

Harris narrowed his 22 scholarship offers down to just three finalists, Boston College, Central Florida and Mississippi State.

After getting the guided tour of each campus, the talented defensive end met with those closest to him and made a final decision.

"I felt real comfortable up there on my visit," said Harris of Mississippi State. "I believe the SEC is the best conference to play football in."

Harris is the 22nd public commitment towards the 2011 signing class for Coach Dan Mullen and his staff.

John is the first Florida high school prep prospect to commit to Mississippi State during Coach Dan Mullen's tenure in Starkville.
