More interest for Sankey

Despite his verbal commitment to Washington State, recruiting interest continues to grow for Bishop Sankey, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back prospect from Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, Wash. Sankey has picked up another D1 offer - this time from the ACC - as well as continued interest from schools in the Big-12 and Pac-10.

Maryland is the latest college to offer Sankey, and according to his family, he will take a visit out to College Park at some point before signing day.

The Terrapins' offer means Sankey has a eight D1 offers: Army, Bowling Green, Hawai'i, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, Washington and Washington State.

He took his first official visit to Minnesota at the end of October, and Michigan State is now starting to ramp up their interest.

On the home conference front, USC has been keeping in regular contact with Sankey. He will visit Pullman the weekend of December 4th. "Bishop is still committed to Washington State and will go down to the Apple Cup (Washington-Washington State) to enjoy the rivalry (and) take in the atmosphere," said father Chris, via email.

The visit to WSU will be an unofficial visit. Sankey does not have any other official visit dates set up at this time, but he is expected to take official visits to Maryland, Washington and Washington State before making his final decision.

Sankey and the Bullpups lost to Richland 21-7 in the state playoffs, but Sankey still had an incredibly productive senior season, running for approximately 2600 yards and scoring 40 touchdowns. He now holds the career rushing mark for the Greater Spokane League at over 5500 yards rushing and over 6000 all-purpose yards.
