Official visitorsAlabama commitments Trey DePriest, five-star linebacker from Springfield, Ohio and Vinnie Sunseri, three-star linebacker from Tuscaloosa-Northridge, Ala., will enroll at the Capstone in Janauary.
Robensen Therezie, four-star cornerback from Miami-Jackson, Fla., is one of few cornerbacks still recruited by the Tide. He has taken an official visit to Auburn, and named the Tigers the leader after an official visit.
State's top uncommitted recruitsErique Florence, National 100 safety from Valley, has visited Auburn several times this year. He has made it to Tuscaloosa once this season. The two schools have been even for his signature at different times during the recruiting process. It is likely Florence will choose between the Tide and Tigers even though he plans to take five official visits after the Christmas holidays.
Marvin Shinn, Alabama commitment from Vigor in Pritchard, is talking with Florence about attending the same school for their college careers. Shinn has been committed to Alabama since his sophomore year, but he plans to take official visits to Alabama and Auburn.
QuarterbacksAlabama has offered several quarterbacks in the class of 2012 and at least three are expected at the Iron Bowl. Jameis Winston, from Hueytown, Ala., Zeke Pike, from Ft. Mitchell-Dixie Heights, Ky., and Greyson Lambert, from Jesup-Wayne County, Ga. Another National 100 quarterback visiting is Connor Brewer, from Scottsdale-Chaparral, Ariz. Brewer has scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska and Tennessee.
In-state underclassmen in full forceThe state's top recruit attending is Kwon Alexander, five-star linebacker from Oxford, along with teammate cornerback Trae Elston. Both have double digit scholarship offers including Alabama and Auburn. Chris Casher, National 100 defensive end from Mobile-Faith Academy, has several offers including the in-state SEC schools. Casher will announce his college decision in January.
Other high profile players attending include Reggie Ragland, National 100 linebacker from Madison-Bob Jones, Justin Shanks, National 100 defensive tackle from Prattville, Chris Humes, cornerback from Hoover-Spain Park and Darius Philon, defensive end from Prichard-Vigor.
Out-of-state underclassmenOne of the South's premier cornerbacks is Geno Smith, from Atlanta-St.Pius X, Ga., who is expected for the game. He has scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
National 100 recruits arriving include Quay Evans, defensive tackle from Morton, Miss., and Jonathan Taylor, defensive tackle from Millen-Jenkins County, Ga. Elite prospects eager for the game include Jovon Robinson, running back from Memphis-Wooddale, Tenn., Justin Meredith, tight end from Anderson-T L Hanna, S.C., Ricky Parks, tight end from Hogansville-Calloway, Ga., Leonard Floyd, defensive end from Eastman-Dodge County, Ga., and Travin Dural, wide receiver from Breaux Bridge, La.
Tide commitments well-representedIn addition to the two official visitors the coaching staff welcomes LaMichael Fanning, four-star defensive end from Hamilton-Harris County, Ga., Marvin Shinn, National 100 wide receiver from Prichard-Vigor, Ala., Jabriel Washington, four-star cornerback from Jackson-Trinity Christian, Tenn., Ryan Kelly, four-star center from West Chester-Lakota West, Ohio, Malcolm Faciane, three-star tight end from Picayune, Miss., Chris Jones, cornerback from Adamsville-Minor, Ala., and Brent Calloway, four-star linebacker from Russellville, Ala.
All of Alabama's 2012 commitments are attending which includes Eddie Williams, National 100 safety from Panama City-Arnold, Fla., Dakota Ball, National 100 defensive tackle from Lindale-Pepperell, Ga., Justin Thomas, quarterback from Prattville, Ala., and Caleb Gulledge, defensive end from Prattville, Ala.
