Berkstresser Looking Forward To The Future

Lee's Summit and Missouri Tiger QB commit Corbin Berkstresser fills us in on his season and looks ahead

Following a terrific senior season, 2011 Missouri commit, QB Corbin Berkstresser 6'4" 225 recently took a few minutes to visit with ShowMeMizzou, and talked about his season, and about his future.

Berkstresser's Lee's Summit squad lost to eventual state champion, Lee's Summit West, 42-39, in a hard-fought state quarterfinal, to complete an 8-5 season, under first-year coach Eric Thomas. Berkstresser finished his senior year with the following passing statistics: 221-360-6 (61%) for 3,383 passing yards (260.2 yards/game) and 36 TDs. Corbin also rushed the football 165 times for 692 yards (4.2 yards/carry), and 12 TDs.

"It wasn't how I'd like it to end," said Berkstresser, talking about how his season ended. "But, it was a tough loss. I had a great season, and the program had a great season..................... It's tough, but I've just got to let it go, and move on to bigger and better things."

Bekstresser's playing basketball for Lee's Summit this winter, and is looking forward to matriculating to Missouri in June. He said that he learned a lot from Coach Thomas this year, and he said that he'll probably spend his first year at Missouri "learning the offense".

"I think Coach Thomas gave me some stuff to take into next year," said Berkstresser. "Hopefuly, I'll be a little bit farther along than I would've been. Playing in his offense was a lot of fun."

Corbin will take his official visit to Missouri on January 10th. He's excited about coming to Missouri next summer.
