Mathieu Hears From Rutgers

Unfortunately a lot of colleges don't spend a ton of time looking at most prospects from Philadelphia Public League schools, so as a junior at Olney, Claudy Mathieu went unnoticed. When he transferred to George Washington this season things changed though and he now has two offers and Rutgers could be another.

Claudy Mathieu, a highly athletic 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end from George Washington High School in Northeast Philadelphia has two scholarship offers and it sounds like he could pick up a third according to his assistant coach Mike Wallace.

"James Madison and Norfolk State have already offered and he's hearing from plenty of other schools," Wallace said. "The defensive line coach from Rutgers (Randy Melvin) came into the school yesterday and they are showing a lot of interest in Claudy. They haven't offered him yet, but it sounds like they really like him."

Scout's Take – Had Mathieu played at George Washington throughout his career, he already would have several FBS offers, so this doesn't come as a big surprise.
