SEC Offer for Montgomery

A few weeks ago Texas wide out Ty Montgomery received word that he had been admitted by his school of choice Stanford. On Saturday, Ty found out with the rest of America that Coach Jim Harbaugh was headed to the NFL's San Francisco 49ers. Later in the evening, an SEC school checked in with Montgomery to see if he was interested in some other options.

"I just got offered by Mississippi State," said Ty. "They called me last night for the first time and offered me a scholarship.

I talked with Coach Mullen and he told me they really needed some breakout recevers in their offense and that I was the kind of receiver they were looking for."

Over the course of the coversation, Ty was able to find out exactly what the Bulldogs wanted in a passing target.

"Coach Mullen said the he likes my size, my speed, how I secure the ball and that I have strong hands," said Montgomery. "He said they could really use me in their offense."

The offer from Mississippi State came out of the blue, so Ty has not learned much about the Bulldogs. He is considering taking a trip to Starkille to learn more later this month.

"I am still committed to Stanford right now, but I am not closing any doors right now," said Montgomery. "Mississippi State wants me to take a visit, but I am not sure what I am going to do about that yet. My mom and I are going to talk about that.

"Miami is starting to show me some interest too, but they haven't offered me yet."
