Market Back from Starkville

Kendrick Market said from the beginning that Mississippi State was the school he wanted to play for. He wasted no time in committing once he got his offer and since that time he has held true to his commitment. This past weekend Kendrick took his official visit to Starkville and came home fired up about his future as a Bulldog.

"It was a good trip," said Market. "Wade Bonner and Chad Bumphis hosted me. I already knew Chad, but I just met Wade. They are doing good. I liked both of them."

Kendrick said he enjoyed getting to know the lay of the land during the weekend.

"We went out a couple of times," said Market. "We got to meet the players and see all of the facilities.

"Getting to know my way around Starkville was good. I had seen just about everything else before because I had been there a few times already."

The weekend allowed the talented defensive back the chance to reunite with some of his friends from the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game.

"I hung out some with C.J. and Jermaine," said Market. "We all had a good time.

"I met with all of the coaches while I was there. I spent the most time with Coach Hughes and Coach Smith. They told me they want me to come in and play ball and do what I did in high school."

Before heading for home, Kendrick had the chance to sit down and chat with Head Coach Dan Mullen.

"Coach Mullen told me to stay dedicated to my school work and keep doing what I am doing on the field," said Kendrick. "He told me to keep working hard and come in ready to play ball.

"My mom, my dad, my brother and my cousin all went with me and they met with the coaches. My mom asked Coach Mullen about all of the academic things."

Market reports that his time in Starkille made him even more solid in his commitment to the Bulldogs.

"My mind was already made up, but this weekend made everything even better," said Kendrick. "After getting to know all of the coaches and the players, I know Mississippi State is where I want to be."
