Cameron Clear talks visits

Cameron Clear, from Memphis-Central, Tenn., is rated a four-star offensive tackle by Scout.com. The top prospect in the Volunteer State has trimmed his list of schools to three and preparing for the final official visits. Clear talked about the finalists and the recent official visit in Knoxville.

"I took my official visit to Tennessee this past weekend," said Cameron Clear. "I am going to Alabama this weekend. I am then going to Auburn for my final visit.

"I took an official visit to Duke back in December. I have narrowed it down to Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. Those are my top three schools. I plan on making my decision on signing day."

Clear gave a little insight of his interest in the three SEC programs.

Alabama: "I like how coach Saban grooms his players to be winners. That is what I really like about them."

Auburn: "They are now a winning program. I have a good relationship with coach Trooper Taylor."

Tennessee: "I like how they use their tight ends a lot. Their offense is revolved around the tight end. I like how they play young players. It would be great to play early and help build the program."

The Tennessee native talked about the time spent on campus this past weekend in Knoxville.

"The visit was great," Clear said. "I got there on Friday around 2:00 p.m. We mostly took tours and met with the coaches. We hung out with the players.

"My host was Corey Miller. He is a pretty cool guy. That is the first time I have met him. He was telling me how it's like to come in and play as a freshman.

"On Saturday we mainly took tours and met with professors. I talked to the coaches a good bit. We talked about playing time. We talked about life after football and the program. Tennessee is recruiting me as a tight end."

Clear had one thing which really stood out with the visit, and knows what will play an important role with his decision.

"I really liked the chance I had to bond with the coaches," he said. "I am basing my decision on the relationship I have with the coaches and players. I feel like I have a great relationship with them."
