Jenkins Confirms OSU Back In The Hunt

Through a series of text messages Tuesday afternoon and evening we did confirm that honorable mention All-American and Mississippi Junior College All-Conference defensive tackle Jonathan Jenkins from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is once again considering Oklahoma State.

The 6-4, 343-pound Jenkins was asked if Oklahoma State was still a consideration for him and he wrote, "yes, it is."

He also said that Cowboys defensive coordinator Bill Young, his recruiting coach throughout the process, was in Gulfport, Miss., on Tuesday afternoon and early evening to pay him a visit.

Jenkins visited Oklahoma State in October and gave the Cowboys a verbal commitment after his visit, but did stress that his mother would need to see things and approve.

Jenkins did visit Miami last weekend, and while announcing his Miami visit in a story said he had de-committed from Oklahoma State and was no longer considering them. He said he was down to four schools -- Miami, Georgia (he visits Jan. 21), Florida (he visits there Jan. 28) and Auburn, which he said he did not need to visit.

Now, after the Miami visit a story on Scout site JC quoted Jenkins as being interested in the Cowboys.

Besides Young, the Cowboys also have Jason Jones recruiting Jenkins, and head coach Mike Gundy has his one coaches visit left as he has not used it.
