Marshall Morgan With Big Offer

2012 standout kicker has plenty of options. At 6'3 and 200-pounds Fort Lauderdale (FL) Archbishop McCarthy high school kicker Marshall Morgan is a wanted man.

It's not often Kickers are shown the kind of interest that Morgan is receiving with offers from Florida State, Georgia and now the University of Florida. Not only have those three offered but TCU will be in on Monday and another offer is expected.

Florida fans are hoping that a previous connection to the new Gator head coach and one of Morgan's coaches will be enough to help Morgan pick the Gators. Kicking coach, coach Tim Conrad is no stranger to the new head Gator coach Will Muschamp.

"I love Coach Muschamp," Coach Conrad said. "He recruited Wes Byrum when I was coaching him at St. Thomas Aquinas. I am absolutely and thoroughly impressed with coach Muschamp."

Special teams coach DJ Durkin made the trip down to Fort Lauderdale today to spend time with McCarthy head coach, coach Timmins and coach Conrad.

"Coach Timmins and I understand why coach Muschamp retained coach Durkin. We were very impressed with him today and he is a very aggressive special teams coach kind of in the mold of Urban Meyer."

It was important for coach Durkin to meet coach Timmins in person to deliver the news himself.

"It went really well today," Coach Conrad said. "Coach Durkin came and spent time with the head coach today, coach Timmins and myself. We watched more film and then he informed us they were extending a full scholarship to Marshall and he told us how he would be used at Florida."

Morgan has visited Georgia and Florida and next up is Florida State. He will trip to Tallahassee the weekend of January 29th then return home and will sit down with his family and coaches and if one school stands out above the rest he will announce his decision. Look for Morgan to announce his decision in mid February.
