Washington Still Torn

David Washington committed to Kentucky a few months back, but the talented defensive tackle elected to officially visit Mississippi State two weeks ago to see what the Bulldogs had to offer. This weekend the Wildcats will have their turn to play host as they look to close out their signing class with David Washington locked and loaded for Lexington

"I didn't go anywhere this weekend, but I went to Mississippi State a couple of weeks ago," said Washington. "Josh Boyd was my host. He's a cool guy.

"The visit was real nice. I liked it a lot. Mississippi State is coming to see me this Thursday. Coach Mullen is coming with the other coaches."

The Bulldogs' depth chart will be a central point of David's discussions with the Mississippi State head coach.

"I want to talk to them about what all they have coming back and who all they redshirted last year," said Washington. "I want to know how early they plan on me seeing the field."

The Lovejoy standout was able to learn more about his options in the Commonwealth earlier this evening when he and his family entertained a collection of coaches from Kentucky.

"Joker Phillips came by tonight and a few coaches," said David. "It was a good conversation. I am going to visit there this weekend. I have been up there a couple of times, but this time it is an official.

"I am going to make my decision after I get back from Kentucky. It's still pretty much even right now."

Once Washington has spent time on the UK campus, he will make his final deliberations about his future.

"I am going to talk about things with my family and then make my decision," said David. "I am going to take football out of it and pick the place I would be happiest if I wasn't going to play football."
