Johnson Visits Two

O.Perry Walker cornerback Cortez Johnson visited a Big Ten and Big East program this week. Johnson talks about both trips with Scout.com

New Orleans (La.) O.Perry Walker cornerback Cortez Johnson took a mid-week official visit to Pittsburgh and then left there and ventured to Minnesota for the weekend.

Johnson was pretty impressed by his trip to Pittsburgh.

"I loved it at Pitt," Johnson said. "It was very nice, way better than I thought it would be. Arizona and Pitt were my two best trips by far. I was hosted by Cameron Saddler and K'wuan (Williams). Those guys were both good people.

"The coaches at Pitt are amazing," Johnson continued. "They showed me a lot of love. They make sure they got your back. The people there are incredible. the city is very nice and the players were great."

Johnson had a personal reason to be impressed by the fact that Pittsburgh shares facilities and a stadium with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Keenan Lewis and Mike Wallace went to O.Perry Walker," explained Johnson. "I know if I ever need anything they would help me out. I think it would be neat to play in the same city as those two guys who are from my school."

At Minnesota, Johnson was hosted by fellow New Orleans native Harold Legania.

"I had a good time at Minnesota," Johnson stated. "The players were great and very helpful. There seemed to be a lot of good people there and they have a beautiful new stadium.

"The visit was great and all, but there isn't a lot to do there," Johnson continued. "It seemed like everything there closed really early."

Johnson told Scout.com that he is down to two schools and will announce his decision soon.

"I'm going home and discuss everything with my family and probably decide tonight," he said. "I'll announce my decision on Tuesday. We're having a bunch of friends and family over to celebrate it. I'll decide between Arizona and Pittsburgh."
