Midwest Juniors Update: New Offers

More offers were handed out this week and several of the Midwest's best added to their lists and a few, got their first.

  • Canton (Mich.) cornerback Kevin Buford has been offered his first scholarship by Central Michigan. The 5-10, 175-lb Buford was one of his team's leading rushers, but projects more to the secondary in college.

  • Oxford (Mich.) middle linebacker Prescott Line was offered by Southern Methodist, the same school where his brother Zach is a standout fullback/running back. Prescott is fielding interest from other schools around the Midwest though.

  • Warren Central (Ind.) and it's bunch of prospects continues to add offers. Defensive tackle Sheldon Day got Wisconsin yesterday and today, wide receiver Kevin Davis, linebacker Jordan Wallace and defensive end Josh Posley all were offered by the Toledo Rockets.

  • Cincinnati Moeller (Ohio) wide receiver Monty Madaris has been offered by Illinois and Kent State.

  • We have received word that Rockford (Mich.) OT Ben Braden is close to receiving his first offer from Syracuse.

  • Our newest Midwest Recruiting Reporter Katie Priebe reports that Edwardsville (Ill.) four-star DT Vincent Valentine is close to yet another offer, this one from Penn State.

  • Southfield Lathrup (Mich.) OLB Jamal Lyles was offered by Illinois.

  • Detroit Cass Tech LB Royce Jenkins Stone was offered by Oklahoma.

  • Bill Greene reported that Akron Buchtel WR Corey Smith was offered by Georgia and Illinois

  • Greene also reported that his teammate, safety Jarrod Wilson was offered by Michigan State, Indiana and Toledo. Wilson added another from Illinois today.

  • Also from Mr. Greene, Cleveland Glenville safety Devan Bogard was offered by Ohio State after previously being offered by USC.
