Interest picking up for Mitchell

The question isn't if Reggie Mitchell with land with an FBS school it is more a question of when and what side of the ball he will play on.

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Shady Side Academy wide receiver Reggie Mitchell is a quarterback by trade, but in college he likely projects as a wide receiver or cornerback. Mitchell is receiving interest from Pittsburgh, Maryland, Connecticut, Penn State and Toledo.

"Pittsburgh is the school I am getting the most love from right now," Mitchell said. "They sent me some invites to games and they sent me stuff about the NCAA Clearinghouse to make sure I have all that in order. I was hearing from (Frank) Cignetti when he was there, but I just started hearing from the new staff. I'm going to a junior day there on March 5th."

UConn, Maryland and Penn State have also been showing interest in the 6-foot-, 170-pound, standout.

"UConn started sending me emails this week and they invited me to a junior day this weekend and a few other ones," explained Mitchell. "Penn State has been sending me a lot of mail. Maryland also invited me to a junior day."

As a senior, Mitchell threw for 555 yards and ran for 500. He also had three interceptions and accounted for 12 touchdowns.
