Waukesha West High School (Wisc.) running back recruit Joe Schobert has been invited to Senior Elite Camp at North Dakota State and Air Force. He is also receiving interest from Kansas State. Schobert said North Dakota's Tim Polasek seems like a solid coach.
"He is very upfront and tells me what is going on and what I'm going to see when I go out there," Schobert said. "It's important to go out there and establish contacts."
Schobert said he wants to learn more about North Dakota's offense. He said that Air Force is part of a great conference and has a solid history.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound recruit said he is looking for a school with an excellent physical therapy or sports medicine program.
But what is Schobert looking for in a coach when he evaluates schools?
"I like coaches when they know when to push the players and when to lay off," Schobert said. "A good coach is someone that is easy to be around, but is serious at the same time."
Schobert does not have any offers yet, but is eager for summer camps to show his skills and see if offers come his way.
"A lot of people are riding a lot on the summer camps. That is where they are waiting to see offers," Schobert said. "A lot of coaches said they are impressed with my film and they like what they see. They want to get me to camp to see what I can do on the football field."
Schobert is also hearing from Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Michigan State, Stanford, Ohio, Northern Illinois, Minnesota and Northwestern.
