Waunakee High School (Wisc.) running back Leo Musso had a successful weekend at the Nike Sparq Combine in Chicago. He was impressed with his performance, but said it's important to keep working hard.
"It actually went really well for me. There were about 1000 kids there," Musso said. "We tested our pro agility, vertical jump, the 40-yard dash and power ball toss."
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound recruit finished with a 4.12 in the pro agility, 40 inches in the vertical jump and 39.5 feet in the power ball toss. In the 40-yard dash he ran it in 4.6 seconds.
Musso said the competition was strong. His results placed him as one of the top five best rating outcomes of the Sparq Combine tours this year.
"There were 1000 kids there from the Midwest. Midwest kids are really good athletes and you have to perform well when you come to these things," Musso said. "I feel like there is always room for improvement. I wish I would have done better on my 40-yard dash, but everything else I was pretty happy with."
Musso wants to set up visits to Michigan State and Iowa State. He is interested in attending their spring practices. Musso said this might be his only Sparq Combine.
"I think it's the only one I'm going to do unless I get invited to big ones," Musso said. "I am going to save up for college camps."
