SunStateFootball Top 100: 31-35

The state of Florida is expected to have over 330 players sign D-1 scholarships on signing day. SunStateFootball provides a Pre-Spring Top 100 to highlight SOME of the top players in the state. Here is a look at players 31-35.

31. Jelani Hamilton

Area Rank: Broward(3)

School: St Thomas Aquinas

Ht/Wt: 6'4, 250

Position: Defensive End

Offers: FSU, Miami, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee

Big athlete that had some tremendous games as a junior, but needs to become more consistent. The size is legit and he has very long arms which could indicate that he has a little growth left in him. Explosive at times on the pass rush. Could grow into a DT or perhaps OT at next level. Appears to be pretty open on the recruiting trail.

32. Patrick Miller

Area Rank: Palm Beach(3)

School: Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer

Ht/Wt: 6'7, 270

Position: Offensive Tackle

Offers: Miami, UF, LSU, Notre Dame, Auburn

Every time you see Miller he has added more weight and is now up to the 270 range. He is 6'7, but could actually see 6'8-6'9 down the road. He is a good athlete(former TE) and has a nasty streak. Miller is still learning the OL position and figures to take a giant step forward there as a senior.

33. Travis Blanks

Area Rank: Panhandle(3)

School: North Florida Christian

Ht/Wt: 6'1, 185

Position: Safety

Offers: Georgia, Auburn, UF, ND, OSU, South Carolina

Combo DB that probably is more comfortable at Safety. Plays in a lower classification where his athleticism stands out. Good hips for a DB and has some speed to go with it. His size is very intriguing at CB and has shown the tools to play there. Seems interested in leaving the state(or at least Tallahassee) for college with Georgia and Auburn out in front.

34. Marcus Maye

Area Rank: Treasure Coast(2)

School: Melbourne Holy Trinity

Ht/Wt: 6'1, 205

Position: Safety

Offers: UF, Miami, FSU

Another small school product that dominates on both sides of the ball. Projects to be a big Safety at the next level or perhaps even grow into a being a LB. Maye can run and hit. The biggest question is the level of competition that he plays. He is expected to stay in-state and UF seemingly holds a small lead over Miami and FSU.

35. Jeremi Powell

Area Rank: Tampa(5)

School: Pinellas Park

Ht/Wt: 6'1, 200

Position: Linebacker

Offers: Committed to Florida

Powell is really a terrific athlete who does it all for Pinellas Park. Makes plays as a WR showing quality athleticism and speed. Figures to play LB at UF where those tools should make him a guy who plays sideline to sideline. Shows some rare ball skills for a big athlete. At 6'1, he has plenty of room to fill out. He is considered very solid in his commitment.
