Even after a good junior year, Larkins still deals with some anonymity. More performances like this one should mean more attention. That said, one school, Western Michigan, did recognize his talents and became the first program to extend a scholarship offer.
"During one of my basketball games, they called Coach Drake, my head coach, and were talking about how they had seen my highlight tape and liked it. I called them and they said they wanted to give me a scholarship to Western Michigan and wanted me to visit. They said just call whenever I want to come and visit."
For Larkins, getting this first offer, was a big moment.
"It feels great. I'm waiting for the rest of them to see how the rest of them feel, but this first one feels great."
"My first spring practice was going to be this weekend, but I had this.Next week, I'll probably go up to Western Michigan. I haven't been to Kalamazoo yet. I will probably go up to Iowa in the summer when they have their camp at Iowa."
A wide receiver by trade, Larkins' recent performance at cornerback may have some schools thinking about him on that side of the ball. For now, he says Cincinnati is the only school that has mentioned it, but if others hop on the bandwagon, that won't be a problem.
"I won't mind."
