SunStateFootball Top 100: 71-75

The state of Florida is expected to have over 330 players sign D-1 scholarships on signing day. SunStateFootball provides a Pre-Spring Top 100 to highlight SOME of the top players in the state. Here is a look at players 71-75.

71. Patrick Jean

Area Rank: Treasure Coast(3)

School: Treasure Coast

Ht/Wt: 6'3, 195

Position: Outside Linebacker

Offers: FSU, Kansas, Louisville, Purdue, South Florida

Lanky OLB that has great speed and mobility. Has started to fill out and his best days are still a few years out. Might get some looks at Safety as well. Has good coverage skills and the length to match-up with TEs. Another top prospect from a school that has been churning out D-1 players the last couple of years. Holds five BCS offers and is considered very open right now.

72. Orlando David

Area Rank: Broward(10)

School: Chaminade

Ht/Wt: 6'3, 210

Position: Tight End

Offers: Illinois, Nebraska, USF, UCF, Memphis, Rutgers

David missed last season with an injury and is still recovering. When healthy he has all the tools to be a difference making TE in the passing game including good speed, size, and agility. Holds a number of offers despite the injury and you can look for that number to rise if he shows his old form in 2011.

73. T.J. Davis

Area Rank: Panhandle(5)

School: Tallahassee Godby

Ht/Wt: 6'0, 175

Position: Safety

Offers: Auburn, GT, Illinois, Louisville, Ole Miss, South Carolina, USF

Combo DB who will keep getting looks at both CB and S. No question he can handle Safety, but many schools see his upside at CB. Good cover guy who is not afraid of contact. Should fill out to the 200 range, perhaps more. Has an impressive offer list thus far and that is only likely to grow from here on out.

74. Herbert Waters

Area Rank: Dade(11)

School: Homestead

Ht/Wt: 6'0, 175

Position: Wide Receiver

Offers: Louisville, UCF, West Virginia, Marshall

Waters has the potential to land in the top 20 by the end of the year. He needs to find a position and then produce at that position. Waters was moved around a bunch as a junior and has worked out mainly at WR this off-season. In terms of tools, he is silky smooth, has good size, and plenty of speed. Might get a look at CB in the future. A lot of big-time schools are lurking and he should have a productive Spring.

75. Reggie Northrup

Area Rank: Jax(6)

School: First Coast

Ht/Wt: 6'1, 205

Position: Linebacker

Offers: Auburn, Notre Dame, South Carolina, USF, Tennessee, WVU

Northrup plays in a defense that allows him to shine by getting up the field. He had over 100 tackles with 40 coming behind the line of scrimmage(including 7.5 sacks). He is yet another top tier defender that is coming out of First Coast, they seem to re-load every cycle. WVU and South Carolina are recruiting him very hard right(team-mate Joseph Jackson is committed to WVU), but he is keeping his options open at this time.
