Fenton Takes in Tallahasse

One of the Mississippi pine belt's most talented players may prove to be Oak Grove standout Travonte Fenton. The talented Fenton serves double duty as both a wide out and a defensive back for the Warriors. After a strong junior campaign, Travonte is on the recruiting radar of several programs. This past weekend he went to check in with Coach Jimbo Fisher and former Warrior Taiwan Easterling at FSU

"I went out to Florida State for their spring game and junior day," said Fenton. "It was real nice and I really love the atmosphere there.

"They really made me feel a part of it and made me feel like I could be a part of their tradition."

Travonte reports that the Seminole coaching staff had some very nice things to say about him as a college prospect.

"They said that they really liked my size and that I would probably play safety if I went there," said Fenton. "They wanted me to stay for the camp they were having the next day, but we had to get home."

Florida State is one of several schools showing interest in the versatile standout.

"I am hearing a lot from Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida State and Southern Miss," said Travonte. "I went to junior days at Mississippi State and Southern Miss.

"It was raining when we went to Mississippi State, so I didn't get the full effect. I may be taking another trip up there.

"I went to Southern Miss and the coaches there seem to be really interested in me. They told me that they really liked my highlight film.

"Southern Miss is close to home, so that is something to think about too."
