Burke Will Return to SU

Michael Burke may be under the radar for FBS schools, but Scout.com has watched him dominate big-time corners at passing camps over the past two months and this weekend the Columbia, Pa., native trekked to Syracuse to check out their spring game.

Michael Burke, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound wideout from Columbia High School still hasn't received his first offer much to everyone's surprise that has seen him live or has covered him, but he did visit Syracuse this weekend to see what they had to offer.

"Syracuse was nice, but I found out that they're only recruiting two wide receivers for my class, so I'm sending them my defensive highlights too," Burke stated. "I just want to give them a look at me on both sides of the ball and I play safety really well too."

"The coaches definitely were up front with you and Coach (Rob) Moore said they weren't going to try to change what you do, they were just going to try to improve your skill set and what you bring to the table as a player," Burke explained. "Coach Moore definitely seemed like a good guy. I want to go up to their camp and put on a good showing up there to impress them."

"The game itself was good and it seemed like they were where they needed to be right now. It looks like they see a lot of man coverage and I think I would really excel if I saw a lot of man with the way I play. I really liked their facilities where they practiced and how everything was set up. The weight room was nice and things were just very close together so players could get where they're going quickly."

As a junior, Burke caught 72 passes for 1200 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also returned an interception for a touchdown. He was named Wide Receiver of the Year for Section III, first-team All-League and first-team All-State at receiver. He was also named honorable mention All-League at defensive back.
