Visitor Coming for Burke

Michael Burke continues to make a name for himself at passing camps around the country and he hopes that the dominant performances he is having is getting him closer to his first offer as new schools are stepping into the picture.

"I've been hearing from some new schools lately," Michael Burke stated. "Connecticut, Akron, Bowling Green, BYU, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and West Virginia have all been talking to me recently."

"Coach (Kelly) Poppinga from BYU is coming to my school tomorrow while I'm working out," Burke stated. "They have really high interest in me and they're just debating whether they like me at receiver, safety or outside linebacker right now."

"The distance is pretty insane, but the way they run their offense I feel like I could do a lot from them on offense," Burke added. "If I were to play defense, I think I could get in there and compete really, really well. There is obviously a lot more to think about with a commitment when you go to BYU and I'll talk to Coach Poppinga."

As a junior, Burke caught 72 passes for 1200 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also returned an interception for a touchdown. He was named Wide Receiver of the Year for Section III, first-team All-League and first-team All-State at receiver. He was also named honorable mention All-League at defensive back.
