Gross Gets Spring Visitor

Memphis product Will Gross has emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the southeast. With offers from around the region, it is safe to say that Gross will have a recruitment worth following. On Tuesday a new school arrived on the scene both figuratively and literally. Now that the spring evaluation period has begun, several new suitors will likely emerge.

"Colorado came by the school today," said Will. "I didn't go to school today, so I don't know if they are going to offer me yet."

The Buffaloes are a team that Gross admits he could develop some positive feelings for.

"They are joining a new conference and I think that is all real exciting," said Gross. "They have a good program and it's in a nice area."

The Melrose standout reports that Colorado's interest just recently materialized.

"I haven't heard much from them to be honest," said Will. "They just showed up and asked about me."

A trio of schools appear to be making the talented quarterback a priority in their recruiting efforts.

"Mississippi State, Louisville and Memphis are all recruiting me the hardest," said Gross. "I have interest in all of them too."

Will holds offers from Arkansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Early on a signing day splash was planned for Gross' college decision, but he has backed off of those plans and is considering a much earlier pledge.

"I was thinking about doing it after the season, but I think I am probably going to something around my first game of the season," said Will. "I am not sure yet what I am going to do.

"I am going to take my time and talk with my family and then make my decision."
