South Showcase Combine: Nyck Young
Nyck Young has not yet received any scholarship offers, but he has received many letters at this point.
"Clemson, Oklahoma State, NC State, Penn State, Mississippi State, Missouri, and UAB and South Alabama have all sent me letters. I am working on getting offers."
Young says he is not leaning towards any school in particular.
"I'm keeping my options open right now because I don't have a confirmed offer, but once I get going I will probably start narrowing it down," he explained.
Young hopes to play wide receiver on the college level and has two particularly great aspects to his game.
"I have good route running ability," he said, "and I can get up for the jump ball and bring it down."
Young says his dream school is Auburn.
"They have a great program down there," he said, "and I would like to play football there."
With his speed, route running, and jump ball ability, Young will be a key piece to the puzzle for many college teams. He will bring a hard work ethic and skills that will be ready for college upon his arrival.
May 2011 South Showcase Combine:
2010 stats: Young had 29 catches for 585 yards and six touchdowns.
