"I was surprised! This was one of the offers I have been waiting for," said Woods.
The offer was the first time Woods had received contact from the coaches at Alabama, which explains his surprised reaction. Woods has family in the South, including his dad and grandparents which is part of why Woods is excited about the potential of playing in the SEC conference.
"I am excited about the offer because I know they have a strong program that is backed up by national championships. They have also put out a lot of good receivers," said Woods.
Having an offer from a program with 13 national championships made a big impression on Woods.
"This is a big deal to me," said Woods.
"The next step for me is to get to know the coaches better at each school. I will mostly likely use my official visits to see the schools in the south," said Woods.
Woods is in no hurry to make a commitment, he says, "I am just going to wait and see what offers come in, and then have my mom and family help me decide."
There is no rush for Woods. However he has his checklist ready for when he goes on his official visit this fall.
"Academics are important to me. I also want to find out what type of offense they run, and meet the coaches and the players at each school," said Woods.
