Kourtzidis Confirms Visit Next Week

On Sunday, Scout.com broke the news that 4-star tight end Christo Kourtzidis would be visiting Nebraska in the coming weeks. Now Big Red Report has talked with the soon to be senior about the exact date and what he's looking for.

The last time Big Red Report talked with California 4-star tight end prospect Christo Kourtzidis, the soon to be senior wanted to visit Nebraska, but wasn't sure when.

Now five weeks later, the nation's No. 7 tight end has things scheduled.

"I will be in Lincoln on the 14th," said Kourtzidis. "I really just want to check out the overall atmosphere in Lincoln. I want to see what the city is like and see what it would be like to live out there. I think it's a lot more important that I like the city and the people, if I was to go that far away to school.

"I'm not really sure what they have planned for me yet. Coach Garrison was just asking what time I would get here and about what I wanted to study in college. So we will see what they have in store when I get there, but they have been recruiting me pretty hard. Which is definitely a good thing."

During his trip, he will also head to Alabama, and make stops at the Florida State camp later this month. Last week, he checked out Cal and Oregon.

"I really liked the coaching staff at Cal and they are putting in a new facility," said the soon to be senior. "It's going to be really nice there in the future."

According to Scout.com's Jake Worthen, Florida State seems to be the leader for Kourtzidis' services. Worthen watched and spoke with the tight end at the Oregon Nike Training Cap last week. It will be the second time the tight end has gone to FSU this spring.

Josh Harvey has covered college football and recruiting for Fox Sports & Scout.com since 2008. He is now the Publisher of Big Red Report, covering Nebraska athletics.
