2013 Poggi Adds To His Impressive List

Scout.com talked with 2013 prospect Henry Poggi from Gilman School in Baltimore, MD. The talented two-way standout received another offer from the ACC.

Henry Poggi (6'3.5"/245) recently took a trip to Auburn and came away impressed. He also talks about his latest offer.

"North Carolina State offered me," said Poggi. "They came by the school and Coach Keith Willis remembered me from when he recruited former Gilman School players Ambrose Wooden and Victor Abiamiri. We talked a bit and he said they would be offering me. After he talked with Coach O'Brien he called my dad and said they have an offer for me."

Poggi now has 11 offers. Besides North Carolina State, Poggi has offers from Tennessee, Northwestern, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Iowa, Alabama, Auburn and Virginia.

Poggi also talked about his recent trip to Auburn.

"I went with Cyrus Jones and one of my coaches. We went for "Big Cat" weekend. It wasn't the normal tour. We got to hangout with the players more. I like the people there and the facilities are nice. I got to spend some time with Coach Chizik and also Coach Roof. Coach Roof coached my brother at Duke. He remembers when I wrestled my brother back when he was recruiting him. He said he would be back for me in a few years. The whole atmosphere was really great."

With another trip to Auburn already on the agenda, Poggi mentions a few other stops this summer.

"I will be going to the Alabama camp for sure. I will also take visits to Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee. I may go to Stanford and visit a couple schools on the west coast. I will also take another visit to Auburn with my father so he can see it as well."

Poggi reports a 3.4 GPA.
