Cunningham Shows Speed

Not many kids can honestly and truly say that they have 4.4 speed in the forty. Everybody says they do, but when you break out the clock, they dont seem to reach that number. One player who can back up his speed is North Pontotoc(MS) HS RB Mitchell Cunningham. Mitchell went to Louisiana to camp with the Ragin Cajuns and posted the fastest time with a 4.33 forty.

The Cajun Redzone talks to Cunningham about his camp experience.

Thursday was the first time Cunningham had been to Lafayette, and he came away very impressed.

"Lafayette was alot bigger town than I thought it was. The campus was too. It was alot bigger than I thought it would be and was extremely nice. It was beautiful. I really liked it. Everyone was so friendly."

One of the things that impressed Cunningham was the facilities.

"I have been to camp at alot bigger schools, SEC schools, and UL's facilities were just as nice as any of them. They had a 100 yard indoor practice field, even some SEC schools dont have that. To be honest, they were as nice as any I have seen."

Another area Cunningham was impressed was with the way the coaches ran the camp.

"Everything was very well organized. The coaches gave you alot of individual attention. I learned alot from the coaches. It wasnt cram packed with people so I felt like they were there to help and give me a good look."

The coaches at UL also made Cunningham feel wanted.

"All of the coaches are very easy to talk to. They get you all pumped up and ready to go. They had music playing and that made for a great atmosphere. It was alot different than any other camp I have been to, in a very good way."

The Cajuns left quite an impression on Cunningham.

"If they decide to offer, that would be huge in my mind. I really like the school alot and I really hope that I hear from them soon. It would be great to get an offer from UL."
