Altee Tenpenny to camp in Tuscaloosa

Altee Tenpenny, running back from North Little Rock, Ark., is one of the top prospects in the Southeast in the class of 2013. Tenpenny will start receiving a lot more attention after his impressive performance at 'The Opening'. He heads to Alabama this weekend and has a school at the top of his list. Andrew Bone has all the latest news..

"I am going to the Alabama camp Sunday," said Altee Tenpenny. "I will be there for a little bit on Monday. I am looking forward to going there. I can't wait.

"I just want to prove I am an SEC-type running back. I talk to coach Groh a lot. He says they like me a lot. He told me I need to step up when I come to the camp."

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound prospect has a favorite.

"Alabama is No. 1 on my list," Tenpenny said. "I have never visited them before. I like the tradition. They have been producing great backs. The coaches seem real cool. I know the running backs coach. He is one of the best, if not the best in the country."

Tenpenny has earned scholarship offers from Auburn, Arkansas and Ole Miss. He is also receiving heavy interest from Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and Utah. He rushed for 1,232 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2010.

Tenpenny was invited to 'The Opening' last week where he was one of the showcase athletes who had an outstanding performance.

"It was a fun and great experience for me," he said. "I was the youngest one there. It was good to learn from all the top guys. I came in second place in the overall SPARQ rating. I ran a 4.43-40, 3.91-shuttle, and had a 37.6-vertical. I threw the powerball 40.5."
