South Region: Commitment Rewind

Some of the top prospects out of the South announced their decision over the past week and Scout takes a look at those guys right here.

Monday July 11

Will Gardner - 6-5/201 – Quarterback – Douglass, Ga.-Coffee
Committed to: Louisville
Quick Hitter: Gardner is a good quarterback that has the skill-set that Louisville is looking for in a quarterback to run their offense. He throws with good accuracy, he is mobile, and he his game is perfect for the Cardinal system.

Tuesday July 12

MacGarrett Kings - 5-10/180 – Running Back – Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-University School of Nova South
Committed to: Michigan State
Quick Hitter: Kings is an athlete with a lot of versatility. He could play running back, wide receiver, or defensive back on the next level. He has good quickness and good natural athleticism.

Wednesday July 13

Cody Waldrop - 6-3/300 – Offensive Line – Seffner, Fla.-Armwood
Committed to: South Carolina
Quick Hitter: Waldrop is one of old school type of prospects that plays hard and plays until the play is over. He is a very physical player, he is very strong, and he excels in drive blocking off the ball.

Thursday July 14

Marvin Bracy - 5-9/170 – Wide Receiver – Orlando, Fla.-Boone
Committed to: Florida State
Quick Hitter: Bracy is a national track star, so his biggest strength is speed. He could step in right away and be a deadly return man at FSU. Any time he touches the ball, he is a threat to do big things. He has some of the best speed of any athlete in the country. He'll also run track at FSU.

Friday July 15

Rhaheim Ledbetter – 5-11/190 – Safety – Shelby, N.C.-Crest
Committed to: Florida
Quick Hitter: Ledbetter is a football player who loves contact. He is a safety that roams the secondary looking for players to hit on Friday nights and he will take that attitude and aggression to The Swamp. He closes on the ball well and can really support the run.

John Theus - 6-6/304 – Offensive Tackle – Jacksonville, Fla.-Bolles
Committed to: Georgia
Quick Hitter: Theus is an elite offensive tackle and he is about as close to college ready as you can be at this stage in high school. He does not have many weaknesses. He has very good footwork, he is strong, he can run block, and he can pass protect.

Saturday July 16

Jovon Robinson - 6-0/220 – Running Back – Memphis, Tn.-Wooddale
Committed to: Auburn
Quick Hitter: Robinson is a big back who can break tackles and get yards after contact. He has shown good change of direction and straight-line speed over the past couple of months at different events and that has helped him become the top prospect in the state of Tennessee.

These are all three-star prospects and above out of the South Region in the 2012 class that have committed since Monday July 11.
