GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Many elite prospects spent time at the University of Florida Friday and you can find some notes on some of those guys here.
Jordan Jenkins is the top prospect in Georgia and all signs point to him leaving the state. Florida made a very big impression on him Friday night and they have pulled into the lead. Alabama is still up there for the 6-foot-3, 247 pound defensive end and those two schools are followed by Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee.
Homestead, Fla. defensive lineman Pedro Sibiea really likes Florida and he hopes the Gators like him as well. "Florida is my number one school and I'd love to play for them. They are talking to me, but they have not offered me yet." Cincinnati has offered the interior defensive lineman and many other programs are interested.
Reggie Davis is a 2013 wide receiver out of Tallahassee (FL) Lincoln and he claims offers from Florida and Notre Dame. He has a lot of interest in Florida.
One of the elite corners in 2012 is Tracy Howard out of Miramar, Fla. and when asked about his favorites Friday, he said, "I really like the big three in Florida, Florida, Miami, and Florida State." He went on to mention Alabama and LSU as schools he has interest in.
2014 wide receiver Austin Roberts is one to watch out of Tampa (FL) Plant. He is a 6-foot-2, 183 pound sophomore and he has interest in Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, and USC early on.
Dante Fowler has been committed to FSU for some time, but received a lot of attention from the UF coaches at Friday Night Lights. The 6-foot-3, 238 pound defensive end may take an official visit to UF. He seems solid to the Noles at this time despite visiting The Swamp for Friday Night Lights.
Greg Bryant is a 2013 running back out of Delray Beach (FL) American Heritage and he wants an offer from the Gators. "I really like Florida and it would be nice to get an offer from them. I hope they liked me at the camp." He was offered by Georgia a week ago at Dawg Night and that is his biggest offer to date.
Denver Kirkland is a 6-foot-4, 270 pound class of 2013 offensive lineman out of Miami (FL) Booker T. Washington and he has already picked up an offer from Rutgers. He is drawing interest from Florida and Miami early on as well.
2013 linebacker Jermaine Grace is teammates with Tracy Howard at Miramar and he could be their next top recruit. He spent some time at UF on Friday and he enjoyed himself. He said, "I have offers from Florida and Florida State now and I have interest in both of them." He is 6-foot-1, 192 pounds, and he can run.
Omari Phillips watched the camp and he was hanging with many of the current Gators on the sideline much of the night. When asked about how strong his commitment was, he said, "100 percent."
Georgia commitment Brice Ramsey drew a lot of attention from the UF coaching staff. As soon as he arrived, Will Muschamp and Charlie Weiss talked with him. He listened and he may return to UF for another visit down the road. He has not closed the door on UF yet although he says his commitment to Georgia is strong.
