Big Dawg: Kivon Coman

Florence High safety Kivon Coman really stood out during Mississippi State's first summer camp sessions. The talented defensive back earned a call back for the annual Big Dawg camp this past weekend. After another strong showing, the Bulldogs are talking offer and Kivon is listening.

"Things went good," said Kivon. "Camp went well. I got taught a lot of things by some NFL players and I had a lot of fun."

Coman got to work under the supervision of former NFL star Fred Smoot. The former Thorpe finalist shared some knowledge with the rising senior.

"He told me to relax, be easy, take it one play at a time and just do you," said Kivon. "There was a lot of competition.

"It was the best of the best and I feel like I preformed good.

"I was a little stiff at first and then I got my running in and I was okay."

After the camp, Coman was not shy about sharing his feelings about Mississippi State.

"I love it here," said Kivon. "I want to play here. If they offer, then we will just go from there."

On Saturday Coman got some additional feedback from the Bulldogs.

"They texted my coach and told him that they are going to offer me," relayed Kivon. "I am going to talk to my mom and then see how things go from there."
