Carlos Watkins recaps his FNL Trip

One of the top players in the Tar Heel state is defensive tackle Carlos Watkins. While they were not on the Florida campus long the trip did make a long lasting impression for he and his father.

Carlos Watkins checks in at 6'4 and 275-pounds from Forest City (NC) Chase High School and talked about his recent trip to the University of Florida:

"We actually drove all the way back home on Friday night. My dad was ready to get home so we went straight through. It was my first trip to Florida. Great place, really really enjoyed myself and it really caught my eye. I feel like I have a great bond very tight close bond with the coaches. I did not know that Coach Young was down there until I got there. When I met him I thought he was a great guy. He looks he can still crush somebody. They said they can use me inside or outside but coach Quinn thinks I will be an inside type player and they need me bad down there and they would love to have me at Florida. I asked a few questions and I got the answers that I liked. My dad thought it was a great place and he really enjoyed himself as well. Most of the places we go my mom does not go so we need to go back and bring my mom this time with us. We are probably going to do that during the official visits. It went great with Will Muschamp laid back, great guy. A lot of coaches you go to a camp and the head coach might be inside but he was walking around having a great time talking to all the players. I was watching him and it was nice. I spoke with a lot of players and they were telling me all about Florida and they talked about how Will Muschamp came in and how much they love him and how laid back he is."

On the thought of playing with defensive end Jonathan Bullard:

"I could see us going to the same school but what's best for him isn't always best for me but if we both run into something we both like that would be cool."
