Deion Belue's one step at a time
"My summer work outs have been going really good," said Deion Belue. "I am just ready for the season to get started. We start back on August 5.
"I am looking forward to having a great season. Hopefully I can return a few punts. I want to make sure I don't have any injuries."
Belue has been staying in touch with one coach in Tuscaloosa.
"I talk to coach Groh on a regular basis," he said. "He just touches base with me. He checks in on me. He came up here in the spring. He is a real cool coach. He is a down-to-earth person and very straightforward."
Alabama plans to re-sign the speedster who is just as eager to arrive in Tuscaloosa.
"They still want me back," said Belue. "Nothing has changed. I am on track to graduate in December. That's my plan. I just have to take everything one step at a time.
"I haven't been back to Alabama in a while. I am really looking forward to getting up there. I plan on going to all of the home games this season."
The 6-foot, 175-pound athlete is looking forward to Alabama football.
"They have a great group returning at defensive back," Belue said. "They only have to find a quarterback. I think everything is going to be fine. They will be great this year."
