Big Visit For Lewis

Four-star WR Eugene Lewis will make his final visit before his his high school season Wednesday. He talked to FOS about his upcoming visit and the latest on his recruiting status.

Eugene Lewis is ready to wrap up his summer recruiting – with a visit to Happy Valley.

"I am going Wednesday, I should be there around 1 (p.m.)," Lewis said.

The Wyoming Valley West HS standout is looking forward to several things during his visit to Penn State.

"I am definitely pumped about seeing the coaches," Lewis said. "And hanging out with the team. Plus, I enjoy their practices a lot."

Lewis will make the trip with his father and his coach, both of whom have been very influential in his recruiting process – especially his father, Eugene Lewis Sr.

"Well, he has been through the recruiting process before with basketball," Lewis said. "He is a big help and knows what he is talking about because he has been through it."

And the elder Lewis is pretty familiar with what it takes to succeed.

"He played at Pittsburgh his first year," Lewis said, "and then transferred to South Alabama for the rest of his years. He got drafted by the Utah Jazz in 1989."

He added, "But he told me no matter where I go he is going to support me and it's my decision."

But that doesn't stop his father from playing favorites, namely with the Lions.

"It's my dad's favorite school," Lewis said.

As for the rest of the recruiting process for Lewis, it is still up in the air.

"After Wednesday I'll definitely know if I want to do it [commit] before the season or after," Lewis said.
