Wednesday: Midwest State Rankings

The South is rich with talent again and eight of the nine states in this region have at least one five-star prospect on Scout. Florida is led by John Theus (Georgia commitment), the top overall prospect in the Southeast and North Carolina is led by Keith Marshall, the top running back in the country.

The Florida Top 100, has the region's #1-ranked prospect, Theus, leading the list.

John Theus

Following Theus are seven other members of the Scout 50, including Avery Young, Jessamen Dunker, Nelson Agholor, Dante Fowler, Brian Poole, Duke Johnson and Tracy Howard.

In Georgia, ‘The Freak', Jordan Jenkins leads the way. He is the lone five-star in the state at this time, but there are five overall in the Georgia Top 100. Jonathan Taylor (Georgia commitment), Josh Harvey-Clemons, Ricky Parks (Auburn commitment), and Geno Smith are the other four.

Landon Collins moved into the Top 50 on Scout a couple of weeks ago and he has really separated himself as the best of the best in Louisiana. This safety is likely going to choose from Alabama and LSU at the Under Armour All-America game. Collins heads the Louisiana Top 40.

The Alabama Top 30 has three five-stars currently in Florida State commitment Jameis Winston, Alabama commitment Reggie Ragland, and linebacker Kwon Alexander.

Keith Marshall and D.J. Humphries are Tar Heel State prospects that have five-stars beside their names in the North Carolina Top 30. Humphries is committed to Florida and Marshall is still undecided. Brock Stadnik, a South Carolina commitment is also in the Scout100.

The South Carolina Top 30 has one of the top overall athletes in the country heading their state rankings and he is Gamecock commitment Shaq Roland.

Quay Evans

The Tennessee Top 25 has a good balance of skill guys and linemen in this class. The number one prospect in this state right now is Auburn commitment Jovon Robinson. Pittsburgh commitment Chad Voytik, Memphis commitment Will Gross, Vanderbilt commitment Brian Kimbrow, and Tennessee commitment Drae Bowles round out the top five.

At the top, the Mississippi Top 25 is very strong. Quay Evans is the top dog in this state and Channing Ward follows right behind him. Both could come down to OIe Miss and Mississippi State.

The Arkansas Top 10 has a couple of Scout300 prospects heading their list in Arkansas commitment Jalen Cobb and Clemson commitment Zac Brooks.
