"I called and committed this morning," said Coman. "Coach Mullen said he was real excited that I decided to be a part of their program.
"He said that they were real excited about me coming down there and that he wanted me to continue to focus on winning championships."
Kivon earned his offer from the Bulldogs after two strong summer camp showings. During those events the talented defensive back had the chance to work out with Coaches Melvin Smith and Tony Hughes who coach corners and safeties respectively.
"I love Coach Smith and Coach Hughes," said Coman. "They are like fathers to me and they are going to help me become a man.
"Mississippi State is just like a family and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It already feels like home to me."
The Alabama standout reports that his prospective position will depend on team need and his own growth as a player.
Corner and safety have both been mentioned as possible destinations for the talented Coman.
"I am going to go to a bunch of game there this year," said Kivon. "I am excited about the team and I am glad to have everything settled now.
"Mississippi State is where I wanted to be."
