Davis Switches to Orange

After hearing rumors of a possible decommitment from Texas A&M Scout.com reached out to John Tyler defensive end Eric Davis who confirmed that he had indeed switched his commitment.

Eric Davis, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive end from Tyler (Texas) John Tyler High made an early commitment to sign with Texas A&M.

But after taking a step back and reconsidering his options he has decided to switch things up and has made the decision to switch his commitment to another program.

On Monday, the Scout.com three-star defensive end confirmed that he had indeed de-committed from A&M and revealed the news that he made a new commitment to Oklahoma State.

"Yes, I did yesterday afternoon," Davis informed when asked if he had committed to the Cowboys.

Davis, who was mainly playing inside at defensive tackle when we saw the Lions square off against East Texas rival Longview, feels the "the 4-3 front" that OSU employs on defense will better fit his talents.

John Tyler is off to a tough 0-3 start, but will look to get things rolling on the right track next weekend against Hallsville High.
