Evans loves the style of the Bulldogs, the "relentless effort" that Mullen preaches.
"I like the way they play hard; they are a winning team, and they play hard. Against Auburn they never quit."
He is ecstatic to be a running back heading to Starkville next year.
"I very excited that they like to run the ball at Mississippi State."
But he knows that he has work to do before he gets to campus, and he is not afraid to do it.
"I am trying to get bigger and stronger; the speed is there already, but I'm trying to get bigger."
It's not just the opportunity to play that attracted Evans to State. It's something more, a feeling, something that can't really be measured.
"Their coaching staff is really committed to their players. They love their players; they will do everything they can to help them out. I love that about them."
Evan has offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi and UAB, but chose to play at Mississippi State. He was recruited by defensive coordinator Chris Wilson.
"Coach Wilson is the man. He carries himself well. He is all about the people."
Evans is working hard with his team his senior year, but he can't help but be excited about the future.
"I can't wait to get there and contribute."
