Polamalu fined $15,000 for tackle

Pittsburgh Steelers strong safety Troy Polamalu was fined $15,000 by the NFL for his horse-collar tackle on Baltimore Ravens running back Ricky Williams, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Polamalu tackled Williams at the end of a 26-yard run.

"It definitely wasn't on purpose," Polamalu said. "I've never intentionally tried to horse collar anybody."

Polamalu declined to elaborate on the NFL punishment.

"I'm not a big fan of people being really vocal about the fines," the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year said.
