Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons saw prospects from close to 30 schools in South Florida over a three day span. He saw practices, games, film, and he names his top five 2014 prospects here.

Many high schools in the Miami and Palm Beach areas received visits from Chad Simmons last week. He had his eye on many prospects of all ages and he names the Top Five sophomores he saw here.

  • Khairi Clark – DT – 6-3/280 – Chaminade-Madonna
Quick Hitter: Very strong and he moves well. He is still growing, he is athletic, and he projects to be one of the best in his class.

  • Treon Harris – ATH – 5-11/170 – Booker T. Washington
Quick Hitter: Plays quarterback and free safety now and he could play either one of those or possibly corner on the next level. Very athletic.

  • Ermon Lane – WR – 6-3/180 – Homestead
Quick Hitter: Has great size/length and looks to be one that could really emerge over the next 18 months.

  • Joseph Yearby – RB – 5-10/195 – Miami Central
Quick Hitter: Great balance, good power, and a back that gets yards after contact.

  • Jermaine Sheriff - MLB - 6-2/225 - Hialeah Senior
Quick Hitter: Very strong and a good athlete that could end up putting his hand on the ground. He is cousins with former Hialeah star, Corey Liuget.
