Trotwood-Madison HS (OH) is currently 4-0. Junior cornerback Reon Dawson is not only experiencing success with his high school team, but also with his college recruitment. The junior has been hearing from multiple schools, but has had the most contact with Vanderbilt.
"Vanderbilt has a great graduation rate. If you go there you'll get a good education and that leads to jobs. If I go there, I can be successful. I've also been talking to Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State and Virginia."
Dawson hasn't been able to attend any games this season so far, but is hoping to make some in the next couple of months.
"I was supposed to go to the Notre Dame at Michigan game but that didn't work out. I'm hoping to get to a Vanderbilt game this season."
The junior has started off his season strong and is looking forward to showing his skills of on the field.
"In last week's game I had a fumble recovery and an interception. I want people to see that I can play and perform at a collegiate level. I want to prove that to myself and my peers."
As for when he'll make his commitment, Dawson isn't sure, but he is beginning to consider what will be some of the important factors in that decision.
"I don't have a timetable set. I'll make my decision sometime next year. Education will be first in my decision because that opens doors you might now know you had. Then I'll look for a good football program and a place I can call home and be successful."
