Louisiana 4A Top 10 Rankings - Week 3

Breaux Bridge remains at the top of our Class 4A rankings this week after the Tigers and Travin Dural (LSU commit) defeated 5A Comeaux last Friday. How do things look around the state in 4A following three weeks of play? Read further to find out and also get your Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

1. BREAUX BRIDGE (1) -- (3-0) -- Last week, the Tigers defeated 5A Comeaux, 41-0. Senior RB Adrian Menard ran for 159 yards on 11 carries to pace a ground attack that rolled up nearly 300 yards. Travin Dural caught a TD pass from QB Lane Landry, who supplanted injured starter Randall Menard. UL (Lafayette) commit Tyren Alexander set up another score with an interception at the Comeaux 1-yard line, as LB Lamar Louis (LSU commit) and the rest of the defense pitched its first goose egg of the season. RB Derrick Williams gained 86 yards on four attempts. WR Kavahra Holmes is committed to LSU. This week: at Hammond (1-2)

2. NEVILLE (2) -- (3-0) -- Last week, the Tigers defeated 5A Ouachita Parish, 34-29. Safety Omar Johnson registered 11 tackles, three sacks, and forced a fumble that halted a potential game-winning drive. LB/RB Ricky Wyatt collected eight stops and ran for a TD. QB/WR John Diarse, a four-star junior prospect, had over 200 yards total offense. ATH Jamond Collins returned a punt for a 45-yard TD. This week: 3A Carroll (2-1)

3. ST. THOMAS MORE (4) -- (3-0) -- Last week, the Cougars defeated 5A Westgate, 28-12. Brandon Bergeron was precise with his passing, hitting on 20-of-25 attempts for 267 yards and two TDs (both to WR Andrew Stevenson). Eight different receivers caught at least one pass with Stevenson (4-144) leading the way. This week: 2A No. 2 Evangel Christian (1-2) on Thursday

4. LUTCHER (5) -- (2-1) -- Last week, the Bulldogs defeated 5A Hahnville, 34-21. Three-star senior RB Daniel Taylor ran for more than 100 yards for the third straight week and senior WR Dorian Semien caught a TD pass. This week: Tara (1-2)

5. O.P. WALKER (8) -- (1-1) -- Last week, the Chargers were open. QB Devin Powell and four-star DB Dwayne Thomas (LSU commit, pictured at bottom) are off for an unusual second week in a row. WR Raymond Jackson is on the mend after injuring his shoulder vs. Higgins. This week: Open

6. SOUTH TERREBONNE (9) -- (3-0) -- Last week, the Gators defeated 5A H.L. Bourgeois, 40-13. RB Jaquis Flores ran for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns. South Terrebonne has scored at least 40 points in every game. This week: at 3A E.D. White (2-1)

7. ASSUMPTION (10) -- (3-0) -- Last week, the Mustangs defeated 5A Thibodaux, 43-26. QB Hunter Gauthreaux brought Assumption back from an early deficit with a banner night (255 yards, three TDs) throwing the football. This week: Plaquemine (1-2)

8. EDNA KARR (NR) -- (1-2) -- Last week, the Cougars defeated 5A-ranked Destrehan, 29-27 (OT). Sophomore QB Davante Noil -- making his first start of the year -- accounted for 365 yards of total offense as the preseason top-ranked Cougars climbed back into the rankings. This week: at Salmen (1-2)

9. ST. MICHAEL (NR) -- (3-0) -- Last week, the Warriors defeated 2A St. Thomas Aquinas, 35-14. QB Dash Duncan has tossed 11 touchdown passes with only one interception. This week: Istrouma (0-2)

10. ARCHBISHOP SHAW (3) -- (1-1) -- Last week, the Eagles lost to 5A Jesuit, 34-17. QB Quentin Gibson threw for 349 yards with the bulk going to junior WR Kent Shelby. This week: at Holy Cross (0-3)
