Sony Isn't Sorry
Sony Michel is accustomed to being ahead of schedule. He's one of the most highly touted prospects in the country and he's only a high school freshman. Now he's dealing with something unfamiliar: a setback. Michel recently tore his ACL and he's working hard to come back from the injury.
"I'm actually a month ahead of schedule with my rehabbing. The doctors are real positive about everything so I'm just trying to stay positive too."
Michel still has years ahead of him on the high school football field. He hates not playing but is glad he has the chance to bounce back from an injury early in his prep career.
"I just don't like not being out there. It's really hard for me to not help my team and contribute. But, I'm just trying to do the best I can to get back and be there for them."
Michel already has a few huge offers to his name. Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Notre Dame are leading the charge in offering the stand out.
"I'm hearing a lot from Florida State recently. They are telling me how they could use me and wishing me luck on my recovery. I like what I see from them even though it's still real early."
A team closer to home is also expressing great interest in Michel.
"Miami has been in contact a lot also. I like talking to them and I was there when they beat Ohio State. That was huge. It's cool to know they've offered and all."
Michel says he hasn't heard as much from Florida and Alabama lately but he still has the Gators and the Tide on his mind.
"I haven't talked with Florida or Alabama really that recently but I will be in contact with them too. Those were my first offers so I'm really liking those two also."
