All about the coaches

Jawand Blue is a standout linebacker prospect from West Boca High and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Jawand Blue was forced to miss a couple games to start the season and he's ready to return in a big way.

"It's going pretty good, I was suspended our first two games but I'm back now. I'm ready to make an impact."

Blue, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, committed to Virginia Tech over the summer and remains strong with that decision.

"I chose to commit to Virginia Tech because the coaches and overall environment. The coaches have been there a long time and they have a great program," he said.

Since the VT commitment, Blue said no other schools are still recruiting him.

"No other schools are really calling me anymore," he said. "They know my commitment is solid."

Blue said he's developed a good relationship with his recruiting coach.

"I talk to Coach Wiles every week about their games and stuff, we have a good relationship."

Despite the commitment and no other schools calling still, Blue said he's not opposed to taking a few more official visits in addition to the one he'll take to Blacksburg.

"I might visit other schools, not sure yet, but I'm definitely going to VT when they play Miami. I can't wait to be there for that game."

Inside the classroom Blue claims a 2.5 GPA and a 19 ACT score.
