Oxford lineman returns to Tuscaloosa

Ulric Jones, defensive end from Oxford, Ala., is one of the top in-state prospects in the class of 2013. He returned to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama/Arkansas game.

"The visit was pretty good," said Ulric Jones. "I spoke to coach Saban and a lot of the coaches. I also got a tour of the campus.

"I thought the game was a good one. That was Alabama's first hard challenge. They responded well. I really liked it."

Jones kept a close watch on a couple of his favorite players.

"I watched [Courtney] Upshaw and [Dont'a] Hightower," he said. "They are big role models for me. They dominated the game upfront. That's just what they do."

The 6-foot-6.5, 250-pound prospect also talked with a couple of coaches.

"Coach Saban spoke to me a little bit," Jones said. "He told me to keep coming to the games and to stay in touch with him. The defensive line coach [Chris Rumph] told me he has seen some film and likes what he sees. He told me to keep working hard."
