Commitment Progress Report: Week 6

Last Friday saw one Ole Miss commit have a career night on the offensive side of the ball and three defensive commitments score a touchdown.

Issac Gross
**DL Temario Strong and DL Issac Gross helped South Panola to a 21-3 victory over Horn Lake Friday. The Tigers offense continued to struggle and were held to a season low 45 yards in the first half and took a 3-0 lead into halftime. The second half saw them score on a 99-yard pass by back-up QB Flowers, a 12-yard run by do-it-all Tony Conner and was capped by a 28-yard defensive TD by Ole Miss commit Issac Gross as he intercepted a pass and took it back to the house. Gross and Strong chipped in a sack a piece and totaled 6 tackles for losses in the contest.

3-2 South Panola faces 5-0 Olive Branch in Batesville this Friday night.

Both Strong and Gross were named to the 1st Team All-State squad as juniors. Gross had 75 tackles and 10 sack for the season and Strong had 79 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and 3 recovered fumbles.

**Memphis Ridgeway had a bye week after pouncing Kirby 57-21 the Friday before last to up their record to 2-3. Jaylen Walton led their offense with 266 rushing yards and 4 TD's on 14 carries. This marks the fourth game this season he has rushed for over 200 yards.'s #44 nationally rated running back rushed for more than 2,200 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior and has over 860 rushing yards and 14 TD's this season.

**Blackman (Tenn) defeated Bradley Central 34-14 last Friday to up their record to 5-1. RB I'tavius Mathers had a career high 336 yards and 4 TD's in the contest to push his season totals to over 1,500 yards rushing and 15 TD's. Mathers woke up the next morning attended the Ole Miss/Georgia game.

The Blaze face Smyrna (3-3) Friday night in a Division contest.

Last season's #48 ranked tailback rushed for 2,600 yards and 31 touchdowns. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native was named the Tennessee's 2010 Gatorade Player of the Year and Old Spice Player of the Year.

Mike Hilton
**RB Mike Hilton and Sandy Creek, GA., continue to roll as they defeated Henry County 34-17. The 5' 10", 175-pound running back chipped in 62 yards rushing on 7 attempts and also scored a touchdown on a 28-yard reception.

Sandy Creek (4-0) faces East Side (4-1)'s #74 rated running back helped Sandy Creek to a state championship last season with 87 carries for 720 yards and 12 touchdowns. Hilton made an even bigger impact on defense manning the safety position as he racked up 70 tackles , 9 interceptions and 11 passes broken up.

**OL Jake Meador and Whiteland won their third contest in a row as they crushed Martinsville 42-14 last Friday. The 6' 7", 305-pound offensive lineman chipped in 5 pancake blocks and did not allow a sack all night. Whiteland (4-2) faces Mooresville (2-4) this Friday in a Region match-up.

He is currently rated the #68 at offensive tackle in the country.

**OL Ben Still and Memphis University School bounced back from a last second loss to Olive Branch to a 41-0 thumping over Memphis East. They held Brian Kimbrow to 38 yards rushing on 16 carries and rolled up over 220 yards rushing behind the rear of their Ole Miss commit.

The 6' 4", 285-pound right guard is currently rated the #43 ranked guard in the country. He continues to grade out at 88% or better each game.

**Ole Miss quarterback commit C.J. Beathard and Battle Ground Aca suffered their first defeat of the 2011 season with a 30-7 loss to Ensworth. C.J. also had a first for the season as he threw his first interception. He was 14-26 for 148 yards with a touchdown and an interception. This comes the week after he had his best game, statistically speaking, where he was 18-19 for 276 yards and 4 TD's.'s #89 ranked quarterback passed for 2, 312 yards and 17 TD's as a junior.

**TE Austin Ray and Rock Bridge, MO., were beat by Missouri's top ranked team and the nation's #50 ranked team Rockhurst 35-6 last Friday. The Ole Miss commit did his part as he caught 3 passes for 72 yards and scored their only touchdown.

Rock Bridge (3-2) faces Helias (3-2) Friday.'s #23 ranked tight end has totaled 12 receptions for over 200 yards and 3 TD's this season.

Jordan Batiste
**CB Jordan Batiste and Lutcher, LA., upped their record to 3-1 with a 56-27 win over Tara. The 5' 9", 170-pound Ole Miss commit made his mark by collecting 8 tackles, 2 pass breakups, while returning a pick for a 58-yard TD.

Last season's #82 rated cornerback finished the year with 84 tackles and 7 picks.

**Junior Ole Miss running back commit, Kailo Moore and West Bolivar, trounced Lelland 41-0 last Friday to push their record to 5-1 on the season. Kailo rushed for 93 yards in the first quarter and half before taking him out for the game due to the score. Moore has 930 rushing yards and 10 TD's on 82 carries this season.

The fastest 16/17 year old in track and field rushed for 2, 297 yards and 32 TD's as a sophomore.

West Bolivar faces South Delta (5-0) Friday tonight.
